I don’t like C.E or B.C.E. when referring to the past. While I completely understand the idea behind it, being sensitive to other cultures, and of course, the religious aspect of it, I am of the mindset that it’s in the category of “political correctness gone wild”. A.D. & B.C. have been as much a part of studying history as Heroditus, and simply put, it is simply a designation of a period either before the birth of Christ, or after said event. To change it for the sake of being politically correct (and let’s be honest, that’s the real reason) is to cave in again to those very voices. Can we please have B.C. and A.D. back?
